2017 NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship Announcement | Send Application

Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), its co-venture partners and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hereby invites applications from qualified Nigerian students for the 2017 NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme. The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians. It provides yearly grant to the successful applicants from their second year to the completion of their degree programme.

Who Can Apply

Applicant must:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria
  • Currently be in their second year of full-time study in a Nigerian University accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in a 5-grade system
  • Not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship (National – or International)

How to Apply

1. Every applicant should have a valid personal email account (for consistent communication).

2. Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria should apply online at: https://www.nnpc-snepcoscholarship.shell.com to provide the required personal & educational details, and upload scanned copies of the following:

  • A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant in JPEG format, and not more than 200kilobytes;
  • University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission Letter;
  • Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)Scores;
  • O’ Level Result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable; and
  • Letter of Identification from State of origin indicating applicant’s local government of origin.
  • Students are to upload their 100 level results.

Note:

  • Each document submitted online must not exceed 200KB and the image format must be in JPEG.
  • Beware of fraudulent websites when applying for the NNPC/SNEPCo scholarship online. Such websites may ask you to make some payments during the application process. NNPC/SNEPCo scholarship application is FREE.
  • SNEPCo will not accept email applications. It is important to visit the official website for detailed information and to access the online application portal.
  • SNEPCo is committed to providing scholarship opportunities that are not associated with application fees.
  • SNEPCo DOES NOT ASSIGN ‘Representatives’/’Agents’ to assist applicants’ process applications.

Jonathan Young Scholarship for International Students, 2018 | University of Exeter, UK

About: The University of Exeter is a public research university in Exeter, Devon, South West England, United Kingdom. The university was founded and received its Royal Charter, although its predecessor institutions, the Royal Albert Memorial College and the University College of the South West of England, were established in 1900 and 1922 respectively.

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for the Jonathan Young Scholarship from students who have registered for the academic year 2017/18 at the University of Exeter Business School.

The aim of the scholarship is to support international students with the maximum award value of £1000.

Degree Level: Scholarship is available to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate programme.

Scholarship Benefits: Scholarship will cover the following:

The University of British Columbia is offering scholarships for international students to pursue undergraduate programme.

The University of British Columbia, commonly referred to as UBC, is a public research university with campuses and facilities in British Columbia, Canada

English is the primary language of instruction at UBC. All prospective students are required to demonstrate a minimum level of English before they’re admitted.

International Major Entrance Scholarship: To be considered for the IMES, you must

  • Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and strong extracurricular involvement

International Leader of Tomorrow Award: To be considered for an International Leader of Tomorrow Award, you must

  • Be applying for your first undergraduate degree
  • Be admissible to the first-choice degree you are applying to, including meeting UBC’s English Language Admission Standard
  • Have an excellent academic record (at least an “A” average or equivalent standard)
  • He an international student – neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident of Canada – and be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit (student visa)
  • Demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent you from pursuing a UBC degree
  • Be entering a UBC undergraduate degree program from a recognized secondary school, college, or other university

Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award: To be considered for the Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award, you must:

  • Be an international student – neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident of Canada – and be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit (student visa)
  • Come from a war-torn, or politically unstable region of the world, and/or from an economically disadvantaged region of the world
  • Have achieved academic excellence under difficult circumstances, with no financial means from family or other sources to pursue post-secondary education (neither in your own country because it is unavailable or unattainable, nor outside your country because it is not affordable)
  • Be graduating or have recently graduated from a recognized senior secondary school
  • Be applying for your first undergraduate degree
  • Be able to demonstrate superior academic achievement (at least an “A” average or equivalent standard) and leadership potential

Nationality: Students from around the world are eligible to apply.

Merit Based Scholarship for International Students, 2018 | Syracuse University, USA

About: Syracuse University (commonly referred to as Syracuse, ‘Cuse, or SU[7]) is a private research university in Syracuse, New York, United States. The institution’s roots can be traced to the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary (later becoming Genesee College), founded in 1831 by the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lima, New York.

Scholarship Description: Syracuse University is offering Merit Based Scholarships for International Students. Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate programme.

Scholarship Benefits: There are three merit scholarships to recognize academic achievement for top students admitted to programs across the University:

Scholarships for International Students, 2017/18 | Curtin University, Australia

Curtin University is an Australian public research university based in Bentley, Perth, Western Australia. The university is named after the 14th Prime Minister of Australia, John Curtin, and is the largest university in Western Australia, with over 58,000 students.

Scholarship Description: The Curtin University is offering scholarships for international students. Scholarships are awarded in the field of Humanities, Health Sciences, Curtin Business School and Engineering Sciences.

The Curtin Humanitarian Fund has been developed by Curtin University to support Curtin undergraduate and postgraduate students from a refugee-like background who are experiencing financial difficulty in meeting the costs of pursuing higher education.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programme

Country of Study: Australia

Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Humanities, Health Sciences, Curtin Business School and Science & Engineering.

Scholarship Benefits: The Curtin Humanitarian Fund will provide a range of awards to support educational costs. The award amount will be dependant on the circumstances of the individual recipient.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for a Curtin Humanitarian Fund Scholarship:

1- Holder of one of the following classes of visas:

  • Bridging Visa E holder in Australia
  • Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785)
  • Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790)

2- Currently residing within Australia

3- Received a full offer of admission into:

  • An undergraduate degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2018 or
  • A postgraduate (masters by coursework) degree at Curtin University in semester 1 or trimester 1, 2018

4- Be from a refugee-like background, or the relative of such a person, who experienced forced migration and may have entered Australia in a number of ways including:

  • Off-shore approved refugee or humanitarian entrant
  • Onshore, community-based Asylum Seeker or refugee
  • Temporary Protection Visa holder
  • Family reunion

5- Able to provide details of refugee background

6- Financial hardship

International Scholarship Programme, 2018 | Widener University, USA
