AIG Scholarships For Africans in UK, 2018 | University of Oxford, UK

To achieve our goal of being a catalyst for public sector transformation, Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) will every year, for five years starting in 2017, fund five scholarships for outstanding West Africans from all backgrounds who are passionate about the public sector, to pursue the Master of Public Policy degree at the Blavatnik School of Government (BSG), University of Oxford. Upon graduation, AIG Scholars will be expected to return to their home country and apply their learning experience as change agents in their country’s public sector.

The Scholarships Programme is targeted at graduates between the ages of 25 and 35, some of whom may have work experience. The scholars will be exceptionally intelligent graduates who have excelled academically as well as in other areas of their lives.

  • The AIG Scholarships are full scholarships covering fees, accommodation and living expenses.

Eligibilities

  • Citizen of Nigeria or Ghana
  • Age between 25 and 35 years
  • Achieved an academic standing sufficiently advanced to ensure admission to Oxford and the MPP programme. This means a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honors (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in any discipline. For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 3.7 out of 4.0
  • Strong commitment to public service and a willingness to commit to working for a fixed number of years in your country’s public sector
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and resultant impact
  • Impeccable moral character

  • The scholarship is available to self-funding international (non-UK/EU) students with overseas fee status entering the University of Lincoln at level 1 of an undergraduate degree course. Please note that students progressing from an International Study Centre Foundation course are not eligible for this scholarship.

Bill Gates Scholarship Programme | University of Cambridge, United Kingdom

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme was established in October 2000 by a donation of US$210m from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the University of Cambridge; this is the largest ever single donation to a UK university. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge

The aim of the Gates Cambridge programme is to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others

Benefits

  • The University Composition Fee at the appropriate rate*
  • A maintenance allowance for a single student (£14,900 for 12 months at the 2017-18 rate; pro rata for courses shorter than 12 months)
  • One economy single airfare at both the beginning and end of the course
  • Inbound visa costs & the cost of the Immigration Health Surcharge

Discretionary components:

  • Academic development funding – from £500 to £2,000, dependent on the length of your course, to attend conferences and courses.
  • Family allowance – up to £10,120 for a first child and up to £4,320 for a second child (2016-17 rate). No funding is provided for a partner.
  • Fieldwork – you may apply to keep up to your normal maintenance allowance while on fieldwork as part of your Ph.D. (the Trust does not fund other field work costs as these should be funded by the University Composition Fee).
  • Hardship funding – for unforeseen difficulties
  • Maternity/Paternity funding – should you require it, you may apply to intermit your studies for up to 6 months and continue to receive your maintenance allowance during this time
  • Some fourth year funding for Ph.D. Scholars may be provided.

Trust Masters Scholarships at University of Sussex 2018 – Apply

The Canon Collins Trust scholarship is a special funding targeted for international students Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and other parts of countries considered as “Developing Countries”.

The Canon Collins Trust masters degree scholarship is great for students from any of the above listed countries or origin, who wish to study their masters degree programs in the United Kingdom.

To make this a reality and improve funding for students who wish to study but have no option, only to wake up in the morning and see it. The following universities are chosen at random.

100% (Visa Free) Scholarships For The Less Privileged Foreign Students, November 2017 – Send Your Application

100% Scholarships Less Privileged Foreign Students – 2018. A Japanese based, non-for-profit institution, Ashinaga, is offering a range of fully funded scholarships to students who are considered as ‘poor’, less privileged and maybe orphans. Applications are hereby invited from all such students to join classes under 100% scholarships in 2018.

The Ashinaga scholarships are targeted for students from Sub-Saharan African countries and other developing nations to study in either of Japan, US, UK. The target is to select brilliant international undergraduate students who cannot afford their education themselves.

Eligible Countries: Angola, Botswana, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Undergraduate Summer School at King’s College London, UK

About

King’s College London Summer Programmes is offering 10 tuition fee scholarships to refugees who have been granted leave to remain in the United Kingdom to study on our 2017 Undergraduate Summer School. The Undergraduate Summer School is an academically intensive, exciting programme and there are a wide range of modules available. The modules take place during the day each weekday. The scholarship covers the tuition fee of £1,500 and the application deadline is 29 May 2017.

Who is eligible?

We are looking for excellent candidates who are passionate about thinking, learning and communicating, and keen on taking a first step back into education. Eligible students must:

Fulfill our standard Undergraduate Summer School admissions criteria with qualifications allowing them to study at university and offer English at level B2 of the CEFR. 2. Write and upload an extended personal statement (700 words) in the Personal Statement section. The statement should outline the reasons why you would like to attend the Undergraduate King’s Summer School and how this will fit in with your wider plans for education and/or your career.

3. Upload your current Curriculum Vitae (in English).

4. Upload a scanned copy of your refugee status in the United Kingdom.

Eligibility:

To eligible for scholarship, you must

  • Have accepted a place on a full-time master’s course at Oxford Brookes University, i.e. a course leading to an MA, MSc, MBA or LLM. You must be a new full-time master’s student starting your course in September of the 2011/12 academic year.
  • The scholarship scheme is normally open to UK, EU and International students unless otherwise stated.
  • You should have, or expect to obtain, a good honours degree or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher education, or have experience which demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills at honours degree standard.
  • Candidates receiving awards from other sources of funding which cover all their tuition fees will not be eligible for a John Henry Brookes Scholarship; eligibility is not affected by funding covering maintenance costs.

Value of Scholarship:

Bristol University International Office Scholarships for Undergraduate / Postgraduate Students 2017/2018

About

The University of Bristol is a community; one represented by students, staff members and the people living within the city. Our diverse and vibrant community is integral to the University and we want new students to represent that ethos.

Six scholarships will be available for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students. The scholarships will be awarded as a one off tuition fee reduction:

  • 1st place – 1 scholarship of £12,000
  • 2nd place – 2 scholarships of £10,000
  • 3rd place – 3 scholarships of £8,000

Eligible students:

  • All applicants must be classified as international students for fee purposes.
  • All applicants must already hold an offer of a place on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University of Bristol.
  • Applicants may be from any discipline.
  • Sponsored students and students in receipt of another scholarship/award over £3,000 are not eligible to apply.
  • Current University of Bristol students are not eligible to apply.
